About Us
What is Community Compass?
Community Compass is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities across Eagle, Garfield, Lake, Pitkin, and Summit counties in Colorado by addressing substance use disorders (SUDs) through education, resource connections, and reducing judgment. Our mission is to provide accessible, culturally relevant resources and foster understanding, recovery, and prevention in the communities we serve.
How did Community Compass start?
We were established as part of the Region 5 Opioid Abatement Council, funded by Colorado's opioid settlement funds, to combat the devastating impacts of opioid & substance use. By bringing together local insights, community voices, and regional data, we aim to create a platform that supports those directly impacted and informs and engages the broader public.
What We Do

-
Storytelling & Education: We share stories of people with lived experience and provide evidence-based information to reduce the stigma surrounding substance use, fostering open conversations and promoting empathy.
-
Local Resources and Community Engagement: Our platform highlights stories of resilience and recovery while connecting residents to a comprehensive directory of mental health, recovery, and support services.
Why It Matters
Substance use impacts families, friends, and entire communities. Through Community Compass, we are turning knowledge into action, reducing barriers to treatment, and helping communities navigate a path toward healing and hope.
We invite you to explore our resources, share your story, and join us in building stronger, healthier communities. Together, we can make a difference.
